Altru Health expands access to digital doc visits

Receiving medical care in rural areas can be difficult. Many small towns in North Dakota, for example, don’t have a hospital, clinic or even a resident physician, which means patients in some small towns can wind up driving a 100 miles or more one way to visit a physician or hospital.Seeing an opportunity to fill this void, Altru Health System launched its telemedicine service eight years ago. Now the health system is expanding its remote consultation service to include more facilities and doctors.
