Value-based care success requires more than the HER

Hospitals and health systems rely on data to reveal an accurate and complete story of how medical services impact the health of the populations they serve. Unfortunately, too many hospitals have only electronic health records (EHRs) and infrequent payer reports to support their data needs. To successfully understand and manage financial margins in value-based reimbursement arrangements, hospitals and health systems must have a clear line-of-sight into activity-based costing data, even at the point of care.
