Treatment for dementia

This report presents the findings of a study on medical breakthroughs in a series of conditions of ill health and the applicability of lessons from these breakthroughs for the field of dementia. The study has been funded by the UK Department of Health. This document is divided into four parts. The first part presents the context and objectives of the study. The next part provides a synthesised overview of the main messages drawn from the case studies conducted for this study. The third part discusses the applicability of these messages for the context of dementia. The report concludes by suggesting a series of policy considerations with respect to potential future courses of action.
