The healthcare services market in the United States took its first steps into a new era through the enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), signed into law on March 23, 2010 by President Barack Obama. Upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2012, this single piece of legislation will have the material effect of changing the way a market that represents over 15% of all consumer expenditures in the United States operates now and far into the future.
