Avita Health System is the parent company formed to govern both Galion Community Hospital & Bucyrus Community Hospital. Avita Health System covers a large portion of Crawford County Ohio. Besides the two main hospital, Avita has medical offices in a number of communities. Avita Health System (Avita) officially became the parent company of Bucyrus Community Hospital (BCH) and Galion Community Hospital (GCH) on January 1, 2011. Bucyrus Community Hospital: Originally constructed in 1932, BCH is now a 25-bed critical access hospital serving Bucyrus and surrounding areas. Bucyrus Community Hospital for many years was fully accredited by The Joint Commission. Currently, BCH is accredited by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) Healthcare. BCH is a member of the American Hospital Association, the Ohio Hospital Association, the Hospital Alliance of Ohio, and Voluntary Hospitals of America.
