NCDs are accounting every year for half of all deaths in Ethiopia and that figure keeps rising. Many patients cannot afford proper care and suffer the consequences. In addition, NCD education for nurses and healthcare workers is lacking. Training nurses and healthcare workers and decentralizing care to peripheral hospitals and health centers is of utmost importance to reach the 80% of the population that lives in rural areas.
