Medicare Price Controls on Drugs Will Harm the Patients It Aims to Help

The Obama administration announced a proposal this month that amounts to backdoor price controls, and it could have significant unintended consequences for the people it was designed to help – patients. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has proposed to experiment with Medicare Part B's program payment model for prescription drugs administered in a physician's office or hospital outpatient department.
