Welby Thomas

Welby Thomas Cox, Jr. is an internationally known artist, author, poet, animator, journalist. He is a 78-year-old parent of six and proudly a friend and grand to nineteen cookie eaters! He holds post graduate degrees from three universities and many honours for work associated with community-based charities: Jaycees, Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, St. Albans Native American School, Boys Town, St. Joseph’s Native American School, The Appalachian Trail. He is an art judge for Crowning Arts in Paris, France, a member of Pendleton Art Gallery. He is most proud of the project he founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 1965 partnered with the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work wherein the Juvenile Court Judge probated first time offenders to a weekly session of sports with the Jaycees and counselling with a graduate social working student. This project was the “Project of the Year for the United States Jaycees and Mr. Cox received the President’s award.”
