Boca Raton Regional Hospital cuts ties with United Healthcare

housands of patients are left choosing between finding another health care provider or going out of network.Thats because Boca Raton Regional Hospital ended its contract with United Healthcare, the nations largest health insurer. This drop affects more than 17,000 patients who are now left scrambling.The hospital, which is now part of Baptist Health, has been trying to come up with a reasonable agreement with the insurance company before its expiration date June 30.United Health says its wants to serve local patients, but its self-funded customers would have to pay an additional $3.2 million in total healthcare costs over the next year for their employees care if it were to agree to the hospital demands.
