MACRA and the March to Value-Based Healthcare

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is accelerating the transition to value-based care by engaging providers with a battery of new value-based programs and quality incentives. Most recently, the October release of the MACRA final rule establishes a new payment system for Medicare clinicians. It’s the latest mile marker in a steady and progressive march toward value. With commercial insurers following CMS’s lead, the government is setting a rapid pace of change.
