Led by Ioana Dumitru, MD, Medical Director, Adult Cardiac Transplant, Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy, members of the Advanced Heart Failure Program discuss Memorial’s multidisciplinary team approach to treating heart failure. In addition to the physicians and advanced nurse practitioners, the team includes nutritionists, physical therapists, cardiac rehabilitation, psychologists, social workers and more. Patients who do not respond to medical therapy and medications may need advanced heart failure therapies, including heart pumps or a heart transplant.
