Tax Cuts Now Mean Health Care Cuts Later

Even without the devastating health care cuts in the current tax plan, the tax reform package will lead to massive health care cuts later. As this infographic shows, a tax bill that explodes the deficit will set the stage for cuts to programs like Medicaid, marketplace financial assistance, and Medicare. Republicans in Congress are rushing through a tax plan that repeals a key provision of the Affordable Care Act: the individual mandate. But even if lawmakers drop the repeal of the individual mandate from the final tax package, tax reform will lead to huge cuts to health care.
