Adirondack Health, a health care system located in the greater Tri-Lakes region of upstate New York, is comprised of two acute care hospitals, three clinics, a dental clinic, and two skilled nursing facilities. It brings in $120 million dollars annually to the local economy. In 2009, Adirondack Health faced considerable financial challenges surrounding one of their skilled nursing facilities due to occupancy decline, concerns with staffing expense, business office structure, and a need for turnaround services. This facility had also experienced some significant regulatory issues.
