Digital health care is at a fever pitch. With new and converging technologies, the coming boom of AI and blockchain, and the transition to value-based care, the next decade is poised to bring about a seismic shift in the status quo and refocus health care on its greatest consumer: the member. Member needs may seem complex, but they are actually quite straightforward: convenience, increased efficiency, access to information, and the opportunity to connect with a person if a digital service fails. Members today are not thinking about engaging with their health insurance providers.
