Google to Acquire Fitbit

Google has agreed to acquire Fitbit.  Fitbit health and wellness data will not be used for Google ads, according to a press release. Fitbit’s fitness trackers monitor users’ daily steps, calories burned, and distance traveled. They also measure floors climbed, sleep duration, and quality, and heart rate. Google is an ideal partner to advance our mission. With Google’s resources and global platform, Fitbit will be able to accelerate innovation in the wearables category, scale faster, and make health even more accessible to everyone.
