Safe Staffing for Respiratory Care

The CSRC holds “safe and high quality” integral to productivity and staffing levels provided within acceptable standards of practice. Safe Staffing Standards are intended to provide guidance and serve as a resource to CSRC members, the Respiratory Care Board of California, to health care institutions and others interested in the provision of safe and high quality respiratory care. Declining reimbursement and unfavorable shifts in payer mix have increased pressure for health care providers and administrators in California to seek methods to broadly reduce operating costs and to maintain profit margins.
